Annual June 15 Kainchi Dham Bhandara Preparations Begin

Complete guide to the sacred June 15 Foundation Day (Pratishtha Divas) of Kainchi Dham: Malpua prasad, crowd guidelines, and booking tips.

Preparations Underway for the Sacred June 15 Kainchi Dham Bhandara 2026

Every year on June 15th, Kainchi Dham commemorates its historic Foundation Day (Pratishtha Divas). On this holy day in 1964, Shri Neem Karoli Baba Maharaj Ji formally consecrated the sacred temple of Lord Hanuman on the banks of the Shipra River, initiating the timeless tradition of the grand annual Bhandara.

The Sacred Malpua Prasad

The hallmark of the June 15 Bhandara is the consecrated 'Malpua' prasad. Prepared in colossal iron cauldrons using pure desi ghee, organic wheat flour, and fragrant mountain spices, this sacred prasad is prepared under continuous chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa and Ram-Nam. More than 200,000 to 300,000 devotees from across the world receive this divine prasad every year.

Crowd Management & Queue Protocols

The District Administration, Ashram Trust volunteers, and civil defense personnel coordinate a barricaded single-file queue system stretching from the highway suspension bridge through the ashram sanctum:

  • Separate Queues: Dedicated queue lines are arranged for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and families with infant children.
  • Medical & First-Aid Camps: The Uttarakhand Health Department establishes 5 fully equipped emergency medical posts with ambulances stationed between Bhowali and Kainchi.
  • Free Water & Refreshment Stalls: Local Kumaoni villagers and devotee groups set up free drinking water (Piaos) and herbal tea counters along the entire pedestrian route.

Essential Travel & Stay Planning for June 15

All hotels, resorts, and homestays within a 25 km radius of Kainchi Dham (including Bhowali, Nainital, Bhimtal, Ramgarh, and Jeolikote) achieve 100% occupancy weeks before June 15th. Devotees planning to attend the 2026 Bhandara are strongly advised to:

  1. Reserve verified homestays at least 2 to 3 months in advance.
  2. Avoid driving private cars directly to the ashram on June 14 and June 15. Utilize the designated mega-parking grounds at Haldwani International Stadium and board official shuttle buses.
  3. Carry essential medicines, water bottles, and comfortable footwear suitable for extended standing.
Important Traveler Notice:

Road conditions in mountainous regions can change rapidly during heavy weather or high festival congestion. Always verify with local traffic police or connect with our support desk before driving.
